The course was ideal, despite a little rain and Mansfield went right to work, grouping up early and staying close to Mike Curley, who went out for the early lead.  By the half way point, Kham Haleudeth caught up and then passed Curley, while the pack of Mitch Negus, Dan Caughey, Zach Frazier and Brendan McCarthy moved up bit by bit. Negus eventually also picked off Curley, while Frazier, McCarthy, David Morrill, Nate Michener and Val Madonna-Lendval grouped well together, staying within 24 seconds of each other.  Haleudeth won his first Varsity competition.
